Caregiver Management Overview
Caregivers are the healthcare professionals -- Registered Nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), and other specialties -- who staff strike events through HCSS Events Platform. Caregiver records originate in BlueSky CRM and are imported into the platform automatically when they are associated with an event.
How Caregivers Enter the System
Caregiver data flows from BlueSky CRM into the platform through a scheduled synchronization process:
- BlueSky CRM is the system of record for caregiver profiles, credentials, and contact information.
- During an event setup, an administrator triggers a caregiver import that pulls eligible professionals from BlueSky into the event's candidate pool.
- Once imported, the caregiver record persists in the platform across events, allowing historical tracking and quick re-assignment.
You cannot create caregiver records directly in the platform. All caregiver data must originate from BlueSky CRM. If a caregiver is missing, verify that their profile exists and is active in BlueSky.
The Caregiver List Page
Navigate to Caregivers in the left sidebar to access the caregiver list page. This page provides a centralized view of all caregivers who have been imported into the platform.
Key Features

| Bulk Actions | Select multiple caregivers using checkboxes to perform bulk operations. |
Caregiver List Columns
The default columns displayed on the caregiver list page are:

| Name | Full name of the caregiver (last, first). |
| BlueSky ID | Unique identifier from BlueSky CRM. |
| Specialty | Primary clinical specialty (e.g., RN, LPN, CNA). |
| Status | Current status in the system: Active, Inactive, or DNR. |
| State | State of residence. |
| Phone | Primary contact phone number. |
| Primary email address. | |
| Last Event | The most recent event the caregiver participated in. |
Searching for Caregivers
The search bar at the top of the caregiver list supports multiple search strategies:
- Name search -- Enter a first name, last name, or both. The search is case-insensitive and supports partial matches.
- BlueSky ID -- Enter the exact BlueSky ID to locate a specific caregiver.
- Email or phone -- Useful when you have contact information but not the caregiver's name.
If your search returns too many results, combine the search bar with quick filters. For example, search for "Johnson" and filter by specialty "RN" to narrow results.
Filtering Caregivers
Quick filters appear above the caregiver list and allow you to narrow results without typing a search query:
- Status Filter: Show only Active, Inactive, or DNR caregivers.
- Specialty Filter: Filter by one or more clinical specialties.
- State Filter: Filter by the caregiver's state of residence.
- Event Filter: Show caregivers associated with a specific event.
Filters can be combined. Active filters are displayed as chips below the filter bar, and each chip can be removed individually by clicking its close icon.
Role-Based Access
Different roles have different levels of access to caregiver data:
